Welcome to the Urban League Young Professionals of Metropolitan St. Louis. Please take a few moments to explore our website and learn a little about our chapter, its programs and our upcoming initiatives.

The Urban League Young Professional movement consists of over 45 chapters of young professionals across the country. Each chapter works to support the goals and mission of the National Urban League. Our affiliate, the Urban League of Metropolitan St Louis is headed by a man with great vision, James H. Buford, President and CEO. Mr. Buford’s leadership has provided us with guidance and support throughout the development of our chapter of young professionals.

The Urban League Young Professionals have as an emphasis, recruiting talented young leaders into the endeavor of empowering & advancing our communities. It is our opportunity to give back to a community that has given us so much.

As President, I will align our chapter programs to support the 5 areas of emphasis set forth by our National Urban League President, Marc Morial:
*Economic Empowerment
*Education & Youth Leadership Empowerment
*Civic Engagement
*Health & Quality of Life Empowerment
*Civil Rights & Racial Justice Empowerment

In addition, the Personal and Professional Development of our members will remain a major focal point of chapter programming through our Professional Development Workshop series. Through these workshops it is our objective to aid in the training of tomorrow’s leaders.

For 2005-2006 our efforts will center around the goal of “Achieving, Growing, & Reaching Higher.” As we achieve our goals for this year, we will grow our organization and reach a new level of commitment to our community, our chapter and each other.
With this focus in mind, we need energetic, positive, young professional individuals just like you to be a part of this evolution.
